The Sports Interactive Cup, the12th WorldNET, was held at The University Of Leeds’ Bodington Hall over the weekend of Fri/Sat/Sun 13/14/15 July 2007. We had 72 entries from IFA teams for this years event with squads of up to 22 players. This year’s Cup winners were RC Lens and the Plate was won by Leicester A. Sheffield Utd were the Bowl winners

The weekend kicked off with an IFA England vs Scotland International which was won 3-0 by Scotland.IFA Cup final between Hibs and Bury was won by Hibs 3-0

Saturday saw a series of games between sixteen groups of competing teams; the winners and runners-up from all groups all qualified for day two of the Cup. The 3rd and 4th placed teams from all groups went into the Plate Competition. 5th place teams vied for a “coveted” slot in the Bowl competition.

As well as the football on the pitches there was a demonstration of “Football Manager Live” where IFA team members were amongst the first members of the public to try this exciting new on line game.

The tournaments on Sunday adopted an FA Cup style format i.e. a sudden death knockout competition.

Anyone who hasn’t been to WorldNET before is well advised to do so if only for the social side of the event, 2008 will take place next July and will be the 9th to be held at Bodington Hall
